New Textbook for 07/08

7 Orange Team

Pre-Algebra site

---------------
Welcome to the website for the 7 Orange pre-algebra classes. Here you will find out about homework assignments, scheduled projects, tests and quizzes. These will be submitted on a weekly basis. Homework will be cleared from this site at the end of each term.

The publisher of our textbook (Glencoe) offers on-line resources to students and parents. Use the left side links for quick access to these resources. Students will learn skills associated with pre-algebra. Students will also develop strategies and study techniques that will help them to become successful learners. Students also have access to the on-line version of our textbook. Access code is C3314806AD. The publisher limits access to the number of students who have the textbook.

The focal points in pre-algebra this year are...
1) To use the basic principles of algebra to analyze and represent proportional and non-proportional linear relationships
2) To apply operations with rational numbers
3) To use probability and statistics to make predictions
4) To learn more about problem solving and how to use the tools and language of mathematics
5) And to learn how to think mathematically.

I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year with
Team 7 Orange.

                                                        Sincerely,
                                                        Mrs. Jean MacDonald
