Last week we finished up our unit on Space. The children had so much fun building space ships with the magnet tiles, blasting off on the trampoline, reading space books, and playing with space creatures. Some children had the opportunity to make a space story with Gay. Other children made moon and star pictures with Susan, and astronauts with Pat.
This week we will begin learning about spring. The children will be planting seeds, making tissue paper flowers, sorting spring flowers with the strong hands tools, and talking about signs of spring. The PM class is excited to read a new poem in our “Chicken Soup with Rice” book. Below are the words to a new song we will be learning.
Sung to the Tune: I'm a Little Teapot
I plant a little seed in the cold, cold ground.~
Out comes the yellow sun, big and round.~
Down come the raindrops soft and slow(ly)~
Up comes the flower grow, grow, grow!
