Dear New Third Grader,
Welcome to third grade! Third graders work very hard, but in the end, we know that you’ll be really proud of your achievements.
Here are some suggestions to help make a smooth transition to third grade that you can do over the summer:
1. Be sure to study your addition and subtraction facts: 1+1 through 9+9 and their inverses. We will be having a third grade math fact challenge when school begins.
2. Read TONS! Read a variety of material.
3. Send postcards when you go on vacation, or to summer camp, or just to keep in touch with friends, family.
4. Lastly, you may want to pick up the following list of student supplies over the summer while the supplies are numerous, the sales are great, and the demand is little!
Above all, have a wonderfully safe and happy summer. We’ll look forward to meeting you in September.
