Homework Conventions When students receive a homework packet on Friday or the last day of the school week, they are expected to organize their time and efforts so as to complete the assignments by Friday morning of each week. Projects and special assignments may have extended time schedules, but most such projects and assignments will have weekly check-in times.   Parents/guardians are asked to go over the packet with the students when they first bring it home and help students plan when they will do their work.   A quiet, well lit space should be provided for students to work. Parents/guardians are asked to look over students’ work and sign off in the space provided on the back page of the packet cover sheet. Homework time spent each night should not take more than 45 minutes to an hour (not including the half an hour of reading required). If homework is creating undue tension and conflict at home, please speak to your child’s teacher.  Adjustments can be made.
